Wednesday is the day of arrival for the European MG Event 2012 in Sweden. Upon arrival at Ronneby you will be welcomed by MGCC officials, who will show you the parking area and guide you further on to the hotel building. Check-in takes place after arrival and is in the reception at the main entrance.

In the evening there will be an opening ceremony in Brunnsparken followed by a welcome dinner.

All MG cars have been divided into two different groups in the morning before we start. One group will drive the Glass Tour and the other the Karlskrona Tour following the description below. Those cars which have been on the Glass Tour on Thursday will drive the Karlskrona Tour on Friday and vice versa.

Glass tour
roads on the way to Glass World, which is the area where the famous glass mills Målerås, Kosta-Boda and Orrefors and some thers are situated.

On the way you will see wide fields, green woods and very nice small lakes. This tour is rather long, about 110 km one way, so it´s good if you are up and off early.

We are visiting an art glass mill, Mats Jonasson Målerås, where we have specially reserved parking areas and we will be guided on a factory tour inside the glass mill. All visitors will have the opportunity to buy glass products with special discounts. Lunch will be taken in the glass mill and we will be served local dishes. After the lunch we will be visiting some more glass mills and also maybe Kosta-Boda for shopping.

The rest of the day is at your own disposal and the return trip to Ronneby is at your own pace and choosing. The road book will always help you to find your way back.

Karlskrona tour.
The other tour goes on small scenic roads to Karlskrona. The town is designated as part of the “World Heritage” being a charming old town and for its maritime feature. Here there is a large harbour, where there is a possibility to see naval war ships. This tour is not so long, about 40 km one way, and will therefore start later in the morning.

In Karlskrona we have specially reserved parking areas on the lawn down by Marin museum in the harbour and there will be officials guiding all cars to the right place. Here we board buses, which will take us on a guided tour of this wonderful old town. This will take about 2 hours.

We will be visiting Bryggareberget, Gamla Varvet, Wasaskjulet and Bildhuggarverkstaden, where they used to produce the figure-heads of the old warships.

Please note: The harbour of Karlskrona is a military area. In order to visit this all participants must provide their passport number or ID-number before entering. We will therefore ask for passport numbers from both the driver and the co-driver on registration, or for Swedish members id numbers..

After the bus tour, lunch is served in the restaurant of the Marin museum. Here the menu will also consist of special local dishes, and we are sure that you will not be disappointed. The afternoon is at your own disposal where you can visit the Marin museum and see the interesting exhibition “ The cold war and submarine hunting in west and east”. You can also visit the porcelain and car museum in the house, which is owned by Förlags AB Albinsson & Sjöberg, which is opposite the Marin museum. All participants have free entrance to these museums.

The rest of the day is at your own disposal and the return trip to Ronneby is once again of your own choosing. The road book will always help you to find your way back.

This day is at the participants own disposal. Perhaps you want to return to Karlskrona or Kosta for shopping or choose a tour of your own. The porcelain and car museum in Karlskrona is open for visits also on Saturday and is, as earlier informed, free for all participants. Visiting the old Water Tower could be a good idea.
The restaurant offers both food and coffee at discounted prices. In the building there is also an art gallery. Amiralitetskyrkan and the statue of Rosenbom are also worth a visit.

Ronneby Brunn Hotell offers all the usual facilities such as Spa and bath, and swimming in different pools. You can also book different kinds of treatments at the Spa. Or just walk around in the beautiful Brunnsparken which is wonderful at this time of the year with all the flowers and trees.

In the evening there will be drinks on the balcony of the restaurant followed by a three course dinner with wine. During the coffee there will be an opportunity for the foreign clubs and participants, who might like to offer their congratulations to
The M.G. Car Club of Sweden with speeches or mementoes. After that the bar will be open and the band will start playing for those who wish to dance. We do hope that you will enjoy a memorable evening!
