Presentation of
MG was the first car manufacturer that started car production after the Second World War. Already in 1946 the first ten TCs were exported to Sweden and MG was soon the most popular sports car in the country. In 1952 two models were manufactured at the Mill in Abingdon, TD Midget and YB Saloon. We do not have any YBs in Sweden but we have 93 TDs in the club register in the year 2010.
In 1972 the club changed its name to The M.G. Car Club of Sweden and has strong relations to the Mother Club in England and all other MG Clubs all over the world.
The M.G. Car Club of Sweden is open to all interested in MG and covers all models of the marque.
The Club is a voluntary club without any financial interest, which works for maintaining, restoring and using the cars. By engaging in different activities we create good social contacts between the members. The Club is a member of MHRF, which is an organisation that works on all questions regarding collection cars with organizations and authorities.
The M.G. Car Club of Sweden is divided into eight Centres covering the whole of Sweden. Each Centre has its own representative, who co-ordinates and informs members about coming events.
Information about activities is given in the club magazine M.G. Bulletinen and on the website www.mgcc.se.
I want to wish all guests and Swedish members a very warm welcome to the 60th anniversary of the Club and the European MG Event 2012 in Ronneby.
